What is AffiliationSoftware’s Postback tracking?<\/h5>\n

The Postback URL (also called “Callback URL” or “S2S Tracking”) is an advanced tracking method that is often used to connect an affiliate program to another compatible web-platform.<\/p>\n

Postback tracking works on server side, so it cannot read the data stored on the user’s PC as a normal tracking pixel. To track via Postback you need to add a parameter in the banner\/link, and then retrieve it in the Postback tracking URL. This parameter contains a unique ID that allows AffiliationSoftware to register the commission of the affiliate.<\/p>\n

How to create a Postback tracking<\/h5>\n

1. In the “Destination URL” field of all the campaign’s banners\/links, add:
\n&PARAMETER=[clickid]<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. To retrieve the value sent in the Postback tracking URL, add:
\n&p=PARAMETER<\/strong><\/p>\n

NB: The word “PARAMETER” is an example and should be replaced with the one provided from the web-platform.<\/em><\/p>\n

What is the global Postback tracking?<\/h5>\n

Available only for the Business and Network versions of AffiliationSoftware<\/strong><\/p>\n

A global Postback is a single URL used to track all the campaigns available on a web-platform. In this case, besides the parameter explained above, you have to add a second parameter that contains the AffiliationSoftware campaign ID.<\/p>\n

How to create a global Postback tracking<\/h5>\n

1. In the “Destination URL” field of all the campaign’s banners\/links, add:
\n&PARAMETER=[clickid]&PARAMETER2=[offerid]<\/strong><\/p>\n

2. To retrieve the values sent in the Postback tracking URL, add:
\n&p=PARAMETER&c=PARAMETER2<\/strong><\/p>\n

NB: The words “PARAMETER” and “PARAMETER2” are an example and should be replaced with the ones provided from the web-platform.<\/em><\/p>\n
